How to select the Venturi hopper mixing pump:

 

Venturi hopper pump capacity is defined by mud hopper size and pump. For example, the hopper including 4'' or 6'' port one. And the diameter is 400mm-700mm. For pump, the normal type for mixing hopper including APSB8X6, APSB6X5 and APSB5x4 driven by 75HP, 50HP, 30HP motor. The flow rate is about 400-1200GPM. To select proper jet mixer, please consider the flow rate of the whole mud system. Almost of clients prefer Venturi hopper to the swirl hopper because of high capacity and dust-free design. Furthermore, the Ventri hopper is more compact than swirl hopper

 

Different configuration on venturi hopper pump. In almost mud system, the mixing hopper pump is set at end of mud tank. They are assembly of hopper, pump, skid. In some system, there are 2 complete set of jet mixer. That means 2 hoppers and 2 centrifugal pump. For some clients, they prefer the separated mixing skid in a frame. The hopper can be in a separated frame or just a single hopper connected with all lines input and discharge. The pipings connected with jet mixer including the input line, discharge line, some are fit with T port for convenient mud transfer among tanks and compartments

 

In a complete mud system, how many sets jet mixer do we need? It's depending on mud flow rate of whole system. And the jet mixer can be assembled together with shearing pump we call it jet shearing pump. Furthermore, different users prefer different configuration on mud system. The jet mixer skid can be fit only one mixing hopper pump, or 2 sets of jet mixer. And usually the 2 sets of jet mixer work simultaneously for sufficient fluids productivity

 

Besides the oil well drilling, jet mixer is widely used in HDD mud recycling system. The difference is usually the HDD mud jet mixer smaller than oil drilling one.

The effect is more prominent matching with Shear Pump. Jet Mud Mixer is a unit used together with the solids control system for petroleum grilling and horizontal directional drilling. The unit includes one sand pump, one jet mixing hopper and one jet mixer that are installed in a base with pipe valves. It is safe and stable and can be moved conveniently
