Decanter centrifuges also referred to decanting centrifuge or centrifuge decanter. In drilling mud process for oil & gas drilling there are middle speed centrifuge and high speed centrifuge. They can be designed as fixed frequency and variable frequency centrifuge.

Drilling mud decanter centrifuge for drilling fluids

Decanter centrifuge are used to process unweighted and weighted, water-based and oil-based drilling fluids (muds). Mechanical energy is utilized to increase the gravitational force exerted on solids that are present in the mud system.oilfield Decanting Centrifuge are able to apply over 3,000 G-forces on the liquid/solids mixture, which separates the heavier solids from the lighter solids. Additionally, -forces separate fine solids from liquid.

Decanter Centrifuge Main Component

Rotating parts including centrifuge bowl and screw for stainless steel material. Screw impeller is coated with tungsten carbide for protection of impeller wear. The most popular size bowl is 355mm diameter and 1250mm length for maximum rotating speed 3500RPM.

Main motor and assistant motor installed to drive centrifuge bowl and screw for flame proof standard.

Electrical control panel is same explosion proof standard compares with centrifuge motor. VFD control panel can be supplied for various speed control depending on mud conditions.

Other than decanter centrifuge, AIPU is able to supply a complete solids control equipment and tank equipment like centrifugal pump, mud agitator, mud gun and degasser. The whole tank design and pipeline arrangement is customized as per request.

Characteristics of drilling fluid centrifuge

The straight section and the cone section of the drum are made of 2205 bidirectional stainless steel and are made by centrifugal casting.
The rest of the drum assembly is made of SS316L stainless steel.
The screw pusher is protected by a wear-resistant alloy sheet, which has a long service life and is easy to maintain and replace.
The shunting port of the screw pusher and the slag discharge port of the rotating drum are protected by an easy-to-replace wear-resistant alloy sleeve, which delays the service life and maintenance cycle.
The convenient and adjustable height of the cofferdam can meet the discharge requirements of different working conditions. Original imported SKF bearings can improve equipment stability and bearing service life.
