Description of the vertical cutting dryer

Vertical cuttings dryer holding high-efficiency separation on drilling fluid and it will minimize drilling cuttings content in drilling fluids.

Which is used to process the oil base drilling mud waste. It is also referred to cuttings dryer. It can help users to manage the oil base mud waste. It will save further treatment costs and get more dry disposals saved space or volume. The oil base mud waste after being processed can be used to fill the ground or make bricks.

 

Our vertical cutting dryer uses centrifugal force to dry drilling solids in oil or synthetic base fluids. A stainless steel screen bowl traps “wet” solids and accelerates them up 900RPM with G force to 420G or super high speed 1200RPM with G force to 750G. It's one of the most widely used vertical centrifuges in the treatment of cuttings and waste disposal, and also very important solid control equipment in drilling waste management. It can deal with large numbers of waste sediment efficiently and fast, and reduce the oil and water content of the cuttings effectively. After its treatment, the oil content (OOC) of cuttings is below 5%. They are up to the international drilling fluid cuttings discharge standard and meet the increasingly stringent environmental protection requirements.

 

In addition, the vertical cutting dryers can recycle a large proportion of synthetic mud and oil-based mud, reducing waste emissions effectively, meanwhile improving the use of waste. TRCD series vertical cutting dryer can recover the oil cuttings in the composition, and processing capacity is 30-50 tons per hour, oil content of cuttings after treatment is generally less than 3%.

What is the structure of a vertical cutting dryer?

The air knife and the shaker screen basket are important components for the whole drilling cuttings dryer. The working principle is similar to the centrifuge decanter. However, the difference is one centrifugal force is horizontal and the other is the vertical direction.

Why do we need a vertical cutting dryer?

The liquid is forced to pass through the screen bowl openings, while “dry” solids are extracted by the angled flights attached to the cone, which rotate slightly slower than the bowl. Tungsten carbide protects the flights from abrasive solids and ensures long operational life. This aids in maintaining a constant gap between the scroll and screen bowl, which is crucial for proper operation.

Aipu produces 2 types of cuttings dryer. One is APVCD930, the other is APVCD700. However, most users prefer APVCD930 because of its larger capacity. The cuttings dryer model number means the internal screen basket diameter. 930mm means the diameter of the screen basket is 930mm. While the 700 means the diameter of the basket is 700mm.
